SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Hundreds of friends and family of two teenaged girls who died in a car crash held a candlelight vigil Sunday evening.
People filled the University High School football field holding candles. The crowd was emotional but remained silent in the teens memory.
The father of one of the girls spoke to the crowd and thanked everyone for their support. He told them to try to be like his daughter and be kind to each other. Close friends said the girls deaths are a tragedy.
"To show that they really meant something and that they were special people everybody loved and cared for them," said student, Sydney Miller.
A University High School spokesperson for one of the victims asked that people respect the family's privacy as they grieve.
