Launch of GrowthAccelerator
I am writing to update you on an important measure you and other members of the Business Support Consumer Panel originally helped to develop to increase growth in small and medium sized businesses. Tomorrow (23 May) Vince Cable MP will launch GrowthAccelerator, the new ?200 million, three year programme to help up to 26,000 of England's brightest businesses achieve their ambition and potential.
Previously know as Business Coaching for Growth, GrowthAccelerator is focused on providing businesses with the know-how and ability to achieve rapid and sustainable growth. It is available for companies with genuine potential and commitment to double in size (turnover and/or employees) within three years.
GrowthAccelerator is delivered by a consortium of leading business advice specialists from the private sector lead by Grant Thornton, Pera, Oxford Innovation and Winning Pitch, along with a range of specialist local partners, including St Johns' Innovation Centre. The consortium's experienced team of proven expert coaches will provide business coaching tailored to each business's personal needs. They will work with businesses to identify barriers to growth and ways to overcome them, including issues such as securing finance, commercialising innovation or developing leadership and management capability.
As well as coaching, GrowthAccelerator will fast track clients to trusted providers of additional business advice to help them achieve their ambitions (including UK Trade & Investment, business incubators, Catapult Centres, professional advisers and business and investor networks).
6,000 businesses will join the programme this year - 500 businesses are already engaged, including a number of trailblazers (listed below).
If you would like to know more about GrowthAccelerator, you or colleagues might like to attend one of a number of local briefing sessions the consortium will be arranging over June -September, you can find out more about the programme at www.growthaccelerator.com (this went love on 29th May).
You can also follow us Twitter @GrowthAccel and join in the debate at #HighGrowth.
Do let me know if there is anything more you would like to know or other material you would find helpful in raising awareness of GrowthAccelerator in your networks.
